    HappierMusic for Active Ageing

    Lifelong Learning

    Anyone can learn
    to play the Ukulele.

A fully managed, turnkey ukulele programme designed for London day hubs, care providers, and wellbeing organisations — available as a single session or a full weekly programme.

    What This Programme Delivers

    Challenges the Mind

Reading chord shapes, keeping rhythm, and listening to others simultaneously fires up cognitive processes that most daily routines simply don't reach.

    Triggers New Neural Pathways

Learning an instrument activates a brand-new learning logic — the brain forms fresh connections regardless of age, demonstrating that neuroplasticity has no expiry date.

    Builds a Skill to De-stress

Playing music drops cortisol levels and anchors attention to the present moment. Participants leave with a portable, lifelong tool for self-regulation.

    Creates an Excuse to Gather

Music is the original social glue. The session becomes a shared ritual — a reason to look forward to the week and a community that actively battles loneliness together.

    Choose Your Format

Two Ways to Bring HappierMusic to Your Centre.

Whether you want to try it first or commit to a full journey, we have an option that fits.

    90-Minute Taster

    The perfect introduction.

A single, self-contained 90-minute session that takes participants from complete beginners to playing their first song together — no prior experience required. Ideal as a standalone wellbeing activity, a trial before committing to a full programme, or a special event.

    • Introduction to the ukulele and the HappierMusic method
    • Learning two foundational chords — enough to play real music
    • A live group performance at the end of the session

    6-Week Weekly Programme

    From beginner to ensemble.

Six weekly sessions that build progressively — from the first chord to a full group performance. Each week layers new skills, new songs, and deeper social bonds. By week six, the group has transformed from a class into a community.

    • Weeks 1–2: C and F major chords, first rhythm sequences
    • Weeks 3–4: G7 chord, smooth transitions, call-and-response harmonies
    • Weeks 5–6: 4-song medley, ensemble performance
    • All ukuleles supplied — or participants may bring their own
    • Large-print song sheets and session materials throughout
